U.S.-China

 

This year is the 40th anniversary of former U.S. president Richard Nixon’s historic visit to China. During these 40 years, U.S.-Sino relationship has been greatly developed. This development brings great benefit to the people of both countries. U.S. is the biggest developed country and China is the biggest developing country. Two countries has closely ties in polities, economy and public issues. One time or another, students will face the situation that they need to cooperate with each other.


UCEEPP program gives students and teachers a change to learn each others’ languages, histories, cultures and people. The program will prepare them to be globally competitive for work and life in the ever-increasing global competition and cooperation.

At the same time, U.S. and China are the two biggest CO2 emission countries. Their emission accounts for 40.8% of the whole world. It is important for both countries to take the environmental responsibilities. U.S. has over 40 years environmental education history both in schools and in the public. Owing to this history, the publics in the U.S. are much more aware of the environmental problems and has fully assess to the environmental informations. But in China, environmental education is only a start. Due to the lack of public awareness and monitor, environmental problems is increasing at a rate more than economy development.


UCEEPP is with the mission that through environmental education, U.S. can help China to build a more citizen involved society and increase students’ awareness about the world around them. At the same time, Chinese schools can help U.S. students to better understand chinese culture and people in China.
